Failure to detect heart disease can be tragic

Floridians go to the doctor in hopes of discovering what ails them and having it remedied as best and as quickly as possible. Though many doctors effectively treat their patients, leading to at least some success, others make mistakes that cause significant harm to innocent, unsuspecting individuals. Though these errors can occur at any time during the treatment process, they can also occur during diagnosis, which can cause a worsened medical condition and even a decreased chance of survival.

Nursing home neglect claims require strong representation

Our post last week discussed malnutrition and how it can be spotted. Sadly, far too many elderly individuals fall victim to malnutrition, leaving them susceptible to pain and suffering, rapid weight loss, weakness, memory problems and even death. With so much at stake, it is imperative that those who believe their elderly loved one is malnourished should consider taking legal action if that loved one is in the care of another, like a nursing home.

What is malnutrition and how can I spot it?

There often comes a time when many Floridians have to make the difficult decision of whether or not to admit their elderly loved one into a nursing home. Though many assisted living facilities take great care of their residents, ensuring their health and safety, others do not. These negligent institutions may subject your loved one to abuse, neglect and malnutrition. Therefore, knowing how to spot the signs of malnutrition is crucially important.

Ruling could increase cruise ship medical malpractice claims

Florida is a major hub for the cruise line industry. Every year, thousands of individuals across Florida and the U.S. rely on these cruise lines for a nice get away from their normal lives. Though these vacations can be fun and relaxing, they can also be dangerous. Cruise lines have come under scrutiny lately for failing to provide their passengers with appropriate medical care when necessary. Making matters worse, cruise lines have primarily been exempt from medical malpractice lawsuits, giving them little reason to change their practices. But a recent court decision could change all of that.
